Introduction:
Beautiful I Am is a book of art and readings that affirm both the young and young at heart. There is a little girl in most women, if we dare to admit it. In our society, young ladies of color are inundated with negative images in the media and, oftentimes, in their own homes and communities about who and what they are. Beautiful I Am says that we are not those things, but that we are fearfully and wonderfully made in the image of our Creator. Therefore, we should celebrate the color of our skin, the shape of our bodies, the texture of our hair, and everything that makes us who we are. There is beauty to behold in each of us. Beautiful I Am will help you feel good about being you.
